Andrea Davis Pinkney is the author of several books for young readers, some of which were written in collaboration with her husband, artist Brian Pinkney. Their Duke Ellington: The Piano Prince and His Orchestra was a Caldecott Honor Book and a Coretta Scott King Honor Book. Also a distinguished editor of children's books, Ms. Pinkney lives in Brooklyn, New York.
